Secure IT Logo
Secure IT Systems designs and develops end-to-end systems to help businesses counter the ever-growing threats to the security of their IT assets - computers, software, and data.
Its portfolio includes a range of secure enclosures to safeguard data centre and desktop systems against the professional thief, access control systems to safeguard valuable data against accidental or intentional damage, and the SecureWALL all-in-one managed security system.

Staffed by IT professionals, Secure IT Systems provides a full range of supporting services, including consultancy, risk and vulnerability assessments, firewall testing, customer-specific product design and development, on-site installation and emergency technical assistance.

Established back in 1994 by Andrew Mayers (FD) and Mike Blackburn (MD) two like-minded businessmen and passionate innovators. Within 18 months, Secure IT had emerged at the forefront of the fledgling computer security industry, with a superior range of high-security enclosures and 3D containment systems, Insurance and Police approved.

The directors quickly recognised the enormous potential of the Internet and in early 1995 Secure IT launched it’s first generation web site, successfully pioneering the promotion and sale of computer security enclosures over the Internet.

"Secure IT Systems is a customer-driven, values based organisation. It is
the ever changing needs of customers, that drives our pursuit of innovation
and passion for delivering new solutions to meet those needs".

Managing Director - Mike Blackburn.

Even a small company can make a difference
The company was established not just to make a profit, but to make a difference. In the early to mid 90s many businesses were being repeatedly targeted by organised computer thieves, many of these businesses had become un-insurable and were suffering as a consequence. Our innovative and ground-breaking range of computer security enclosures quickly solved the problem of organised computer theft, making a real difference to hundreds of businesses throughout the UK.

Today the company has a new mission, to help small, medium enterprises (SMEs) who are becoming dependent on email and the Internet. By providing SMEs with blue-chip standards of security and services, we are making a difference once again, protecting employees from inappropriate and offensive material, employers from litigation and prosecution, the company from the loss of confidential information and the network from the ever-present threat from computers viruses.

When properly secured and managed, through an A.U.P. the Internet can actually increase productivity and make a positive contribution to employee welfare.

Values at work
A conscious decision of the founding directors was that Secure IT should from the outset, adopt and uphold a clear set of values across all aspects of its business dealings, values that should be shared by employees and directors alike.

Those core values are:

Integrity our word is our bond and this has earned us a reputation for honesty and reliability.
Responsibility we put our customer’s interests first and should we make a mistake, we put it right quickly and without fuss.
Commitment we honour our obligations and stand by our customers.
Respect by providing a great service we earn the respect and loyalty of our customers.
Trust its hard to earn and easily to lost, but an essential ingredient in business.
Employee Welfare Banner

The present trend for an extended working day is in our opinion, a fundamentally flawed practice, as it often results in an in-balance of the employee’s private and working life, which in turn leads to lower levels of productivity and increased levels of disharmony, intolerance and stress.

Secure IT believe employees should not put a career ahead of a marriage or family, rather they should seek to achieve a work-life balance that will help them cope with the responsibilities of both their private and working life. Employees who enjoy a work-life balance are more approachable, relaxed and productive individuals, able to focus on results, not the clock.

Employee fulfilment too, is an important yet often overlooked ingredient in an employees working life. Many people have a underlying need to find some purpose and meaning in their work. As well appreciating the small difference our solutions make to our customers, Secure IT encourages its employees to take an active role in community projects and other worthy causes and to contribute their time and talents when ever possible. (after all, the feel-good factor is an excellent motivator)

A great company ?
There are many greed-driven and fear-governed businessmen who would probably ridicule our enlightened approach to employee welfare. A company is only as good as its people and it is the values and attitudes prevalent at the heart of the organisation, that makes the difference between being a good company and being a great company.
